Amy Florence is a London born artist working out of her studio in Florence, Italy. She trained at the Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence where she went on to teach the advanced painting and drawing programs for 5 years. In November 2014 she set up Studio Donatello. Now, she divides her time between painting and commissions.
Exhibited with the Royal portrait society at the Mall Galleries. 2014

The Grenning Gallery is pleased to present Amy Florence’s (b. 1989) first catalog, which is long overdue since she has been exhibiting with us since 2018. When we first took in Florence’s paintings, they were mostly small oil on panels, soaked in natural hues. Over time, we have watched Florence take her traditional training and expand onto larger canvases with vibrant con- fidence. Today, she is composing these “still-life symphonies” where objects of interest are thoughtfully situated alongside one another. Each composition al- lows one’s eyes to dance from one intrigue to the next; each carefully observed and expertly handled and resolutely unified by a single light source that often streams in from beyond.
